"If there were an award for 'most creative weirdness in covering the RNC,' MPLS. St. Paul Magazine would win it. David Anderson's report on the RNC Media Party at the national convention was a hilarious send up of the journalists and other media types behind the convention and the random dancing and ennui that can break out when you least expect it..."
"He's got a lot of energy and verticality."
Garrison Keillor, after watching Anderson rap (true story)
"Deliciously pitch perfect."

DAVID ANDERSON is an LA-based, Minnesota-born writer and director. With a unique yet accessible tone, Anderson’s work is a hybrid of Coen Brothers’ deviance with Kermit The Frog genuineness, all packaged in a tidy Midwestern bow.
Anderson’s peerless style can be seen in his recently completed feature film, AFTER THE REALITY (starring Matthew Morrison and Sarah Chalke). It was distributed by THE ORCHARD last year and is now available across the country (on all digital and cable platforms, including Netflix) and the globe. It was the opening night film of the 2016 Newport Beach Film Festival where the Hollywood Reporter dubbed it, “deliciously pitch perfect.” As writer, director, and a producer of AFTER THE REALITY, David shepherded it through all aspects of production, from financing to pre-production to final delivery.
He is currently in pre-production on his next feature, BLACK APPLE (“Michael Clayton” meets “Fargo”), a neo-noir thriller about school standardized testing, slated to go into production in the winter of the 2020. He is also currently a staff writer on the CBS Saturday morning show, THE INSPECTORS, with two of his penned episodes airing this season. In addition, his completed pilots ZEN OF RADISSON (half-hour comedy) and AMERICAN LETHAL (hour-long drama) are just starting to be pitched to producers and studios such as Scott Free and Fox.
Prior to AFTER THE REALITY, his award-winning short film BOATS AGAINST THE CURRENT (starring Jason Ritter and Kelen Coleman) screened at dozens of festivals and will soon be available on iTunes. A slightly nuttier side of Anderson can be seen on his web series USOFANDERSON.COM (featuring Weezer and his high school foreign exchange student, Nikolai). A more serious side can be seen on his PBS "FRONTLINE/World" produced documentary SAKHALIN: ISLAND ON THE EDGE.
